Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

In implementing various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Clark County’s Eighth Judicial District Court has opened several doors in the “multi-door” courthouse through which participants can pass in order to resolve civil disputes through means other than traditional costly, lengthy and protracted trials.  ADR seeks to fulfill the District Court’s mission of providing innovative, efficient and fair equal access to justice.

The Civil Discovery Commissioner is charged to resolve any problems that arise from District Court pre-trial disputes involving discovery in civil cases.  The Commissioner is appointed by and responsible to the full complement of District Court Judges.

Probate
Commissioner James A. Fontano

The Probate Commissioner prepares the calendar and related materials for and conducts the Friday session of Probate. In addition, the Probate commissioner, as a hearing master, conducts Evidentiary Hearings of contested probate matters.
