Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Gloria Sturman wrapped up 2025 honored with the Clark County Bar Association (CCBA) Judicial Excellence Award in December.

Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Gloria Sturman received the Clark County Bar Association (CCBA) Judicial Excellence Award on December 4. The award is given annually by CCBA at their annual volunteer appreciation luncheon. The honor was touted on the CCBA website as, “A special highlight of the event was the presentation of the Judicial Excellence Award to Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Gloria Sturman in honor of her service and commitment to the judiciary and the legal community in Clark County.”

In early December, Judge Sturman also received a master’s degree in judicial studies from the University of Nevada Reno. The judicial studies degree program is offered in cooperation with the National Judicial College and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.

Judge Sturman is one of just over 200 judges from around the nation who have received the degree.

The Judicial Studies Graduate Degree Program at the University of Nevada, Reno was officially established in 1986 and offers a master of judicial studies (MJS) degree as well as a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in judicial studies.

Judge Sturman took the District Court bench in January 2011.
