Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Vincent Ochoa – Family Division Department S

Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Vincent Ochoa announced he will not seek reelection next year.

“I have been elected three times to the position of District Court Judge. I will be starting my 16th year on the bench in 2026. There is one more year (2026) in my present term which I intent to fulfill,” said Judge Ochoa.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of the State of Nevada. For over 45 years, I have been committed to my duties as a District Court law clerk, a lawyer, and now as a district judge, functioning as the only judge in Department S since its inception in 2011.”

Vincent Ochoa was the first Hispanic attorney serving as a Nevada Deputy Attorney General, and later elected to serve as a Governor for the State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors (2009 to 2011).

There are 26 Family Division departments in the Eighth Judicial District Court that encompasses Clark County. All 58 seats on the EJDC bench will be on the 2026 ballot. The Nevada District Court elections are non-partisan for a term of six years.
