Judges Kerri Maxey and Adriana Rincon White will be ceremonially sworn in at an investiture on May 22 at 3 p.m. at the North Las Vegas City Hall at 2250 Las Vegas Blvd North. Investitures are formal ceremonies with significant symbolism, as new judges publicly swear an oath to uphold justice. Prior to serving in the judicial post, Judge Rincon White was a hearing master in the Family Division of District Court since 2019. She has served in several areas; dependency court, juvenile delinquency court, and in domestic violence. Prior to her  hearing master appointment, she worked  for 10 years as an attorney representing clients exclusively in the area of family law. She earned her degree in criminal justice administration from San Diego State University and her law degree from California Western School of Law.

Kerri Maxey has dedicated her legal career to representing children. Her passion for juvenile law began during her participation in the Juvenile Justice Clinic at the UNLV Boyd School of Law. From 2005 to 2019, Kerri served as a Deputy Public Defender in the juvenile division, where she represented minors aged 8 to 21 who were charged with a variety of offenses, including serious felonies and cases involving the transfer of minors from juvenile court to the adult criminal system. In 2020, she was hired as one of the foundational staff attorneys for the Minor Guardianship Advocacy Program at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. In this role, Kerri represented vulnerable children in guardianship cases and crossover custody cases. Additionally, she represented children through Legal Aid’s Pro Bono Project for the Children’s Attorney Program. Kerri received her Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude, from the William S. Boyd School of Law, and she earned her B.A. in Economics, also graduating cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
