Renowned Psychologist Dr. Johanna O’Flaherty conducted a lunchtime stress reduction session at the Regional Justice Center for the legal community. More than 179 people tuned in virtually for a session on how to deal with stress or help other deal with it. In addition to many other pointers, Dr. O’Flaherty emphasized self-care, the development of a support system and she offered seven keys to stress management including:

  1. Physical exercise
  2. Cognitive exercise
  3. Relaxation Response practice
  4. Interpersonal support
  5. Positive attitude … “Active Optimism”
  6. Know your limitations – change what you can, avoid the worst, accept the rest
