Judges Paul M. Gaudet, Gregory Gordon and Regina M. McConnell will be ceremonially sworn in at an investiture on September 21 at 3 p.m. in the Clark County Government Center at 500 E. Grand Central Pkwy. Investitures are formal ceremonies in which new judges publicly swear an oath to uphold justice. Judge Paul M. Gaudet is a long-time resident of Clark County. He relocated to Nevada in April 1992. Prior to being appointed to the bench in March 2023, Judge Gaudet was a practicing attorney in Nevada, with over three decades of trial experience. A primary focus of his practice was family law. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Southeastern Louisiana. After graduating law school, he worked for two years as an accountant/auditor. Judge Gaudet raised his family of three children in Clark County.

Judge Gregory Gordon was born and raised in Las Vegas and attended Valley High School. . Before his appointment to the bench, Judge Gordon practiced family law in Clark County for 29 years. He attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1991. He graduated magna cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1994. Judge Gordon began his career working at Jolley, Urga, Wirth & Woodbury, rising to the level of partner in the firm. Judge Gordon has written numerous articles pertaining to family law, including the first print edition of Nevada Child Custody and Visitation which appears in the Nevada Family Law Practice Manual, a resource used by many Nevada attorneys and judges.

Prior to her appointment to the District Court Family Division, Judge Regina McConnell had been a practicing attorney since 2003. She started her own firm with a family law focus in 2007. She has been a frequent author and speaker at legal seminars. She co-authored a book called “The Soul of Success: Vol II.”  Born and raised in Muncie, IN, Judge McConnell is the first of her family to graduate college. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University, and her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law. She has been a published member of the Indiana & International Comparative Law Review. She interned for the Indiana Department of Public Access Counselor and CMG Worldwide. Judge McConnell is a mother of three young children, a senior member of the United States Civil Air Patrol (Air Force auxiliary), performs community service with a focus on children and volunteers regularly at her church.
