The Nevada Judicial Historical Society, the Nevada Supreme Court, and the Eighth Judicial District Court commemorated the creation of the first District Court in Clark County by presenting a plaque memorializing the event to Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager in a ceremony Sept. 25.
The first Clark County court was the result of the creation of Clark County in 1909 when Lincoln was divided by the Nevada Legislature.
Chief Justice James Hardesty presided over the ceremony and was joined by Chief Eighth Judicial District Judge Arthur Ritchie.
