Media & Public Communications
The Court Information Office strives to meet the following objectives in working with the news media during high-profile cases:
- Provide information to the public and the media on court trials, programs and issues;
- Assist and advise the trial and Chief Judges on trial-related media issues;
- Minimize the impact of the media's presence and demands on the trial court's staff, on other courtrooms and on Eighth Judicial District Court and Las Vegas Township Justice Court operations;
- Help ensure that an appropriate atmosphere prevails in the courthouse so all litigants may obtain a fair trial, and
- Help ensure that the public and the media are accommodated appropriately.

Media Rules & Tools
Camera access to court hearings is only granted to interested media after filing a Media Request Form (see Media Rules & Tools) and faxing it to (702) 671-4535. Media must comply with Nevada Supreme Court Rules for Trial Coverage and Media Guidelines for Camera Coverage of Proceedings in the Regional Justice Center (RJC). Cameras are not permitted to videotape or take pictures inside the RJC without prior approval of the Court Information Office.
