Records
The Court Clerk's Criminal and Civil Customer Service Office counters are located on the second floor of the Regional Justice Center, 200 Lewis Avenue. Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays.
Requests for court criminal and civil record information are processed as quickly as court resources are available. These requests are subject to the following guidelines:
- When record searches are performed, the criminal information system will be checked 3 different ways, i.e. by Defendant Name, Social Security number, and ID number.
- A research request will not be performed if only a name is given to research. A birth date or social security number must also be provided to verify a defendant’s identity.
- If no record exists, “NR” will be indicated next to the request.
- If a record exists within the time frame stated, the Las Vegas Justice Court (LVJC) staff will complete either the “Single Case Research” form or the “Multiple Case Research” form. The information provided will consist of the Name, Case Number, Charges, Arrest Date (if applicable), File Date, Disposition and Date, and Sentencing Information.
- If the case is listed in the LVJC case management system but is not in our jurisdiction, i.e. Henderson JC or District Court, the case number will be listed on the research form but will be designated as a case out of our jurisdiction. LVJC will not be able to provide any additional information regarding cases out of our jurisdiction.
- The statutory research fee must accompany the request. This fee is $1.00 per year, per name, for each year searched.
- After research request forms are completed, they may be picked up at any customer service window along with the original receipt of fees. If you wish the forms returned by mail, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope.
- All research requests are generally completed in the order in which they were received, but such requests are subject to being prioritized at the Court’s discretion, depending upon the resources available. Research requests will be processed in the order they are received using customer service records as documentation of the time that the request is received. Many requests will be completed the same day and may be ready for afternoon pickup, but this processing time cannot be guaranteed due to the volume of requests and available resources. Please allow a minimum of 21 - 30 judicial (working) days for requests to be completed.
- The processing of records requests is subject to the following disclaimer:
Although the research information provided by court employees is believed to be correct, information is provided on an “as is” basis, and accuracy and/or completeness cannot be guaranteed. The Las Vegas Justice Court disclaims liability for any errors or omissions relating to the research information provided. Moreover, in no event shall the Las Vegas Justice Court be liable for any damages, of any nature whatsoever, arising out of the provision of research information.

All private customers (research companies, attorneys, etc.) not covered by this Statute must pay for research and documents. These fees must be provided in advance of the request.
Please be aware, if the records are being used for legal purposes, you may wish to have the court "Certify" the documents as "true and correct copies of the original".
