Records Search and Viewing
Las Vegas Township Justice Court
The Las Vegas Justice Court Clerk maintains all civil and criminal records for the court. The court is located on the second floor of the Regional Justice Center, 200 Lewis Avenue, in downtown Las Vegas. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Eighth Judicial District Court
The Clerk of the Court maintains court records from September 1909 through the present date. Records dating from 1990 to present may be searched online. Search and copy requests for records dating from 1909 to 1990 must be submitted in person or through the mail. Records prior to 1909 must be obtained from Lincoln County. The Clerk of the Court retains department and court records and provides access to this information to the public, legal community and court related agencies. Information can be obtained in person at the Records counter, by mail, or on-line. The Civil/Criminal Counter is located on the third floor of the Regional Justice Center, 200 Lewis Avenue, in downtown Las Vegas.

Records Viewing
The following is a list of the regulations for in-person visits to view records:
- Files may be viewed in the Clerk’s Office only.
- Documents and exhibits stored in a file MAY NOT be removed from the file pursuant to NRS 239.300.
- It is illegal to remove any documents, files or exhibits from the Clerk’s Office for viewing NRS 239.310.
- Sealed records (any file, envelope or document marked "SEALED BY ORDER OF THE COURT" or "SEALED BY LAW") ARE NOT open to public inspection. Attorneys of record, and litigants may view the contents of a sealed record upon presentation of proper identification, except for adoption cases. No individual may view an adoption record without a court order.
- Evidence may be viewed upon request, but it is wise to telephone ahead to have the evidence ready for viewing. Only unsealed admitted evidence may be viewed upon request.
- To view a file, present a valid case number to the Records or File Room Clerk.
- If the case number is unknown, present the party names, approximate year the case was filed and case type, so the case number can be researched.
- If you wish to have documents out of a file reproduced, enter the information on a request slip and paper clip the pages in the file.
- To view multiple files (five or more), complete a request listing all of the case numbers at least 24 hours before the required viewing date.
- Older records are maintained on microfilm and microfiche; you may be asked to view these cases on film.
- No eating or drinking is permitted near the records.
Searches
- To access the form for a search which you can mail or bring into our office, click on search request form.
- In general, a search request is normally completed within 2 working days. If the file is not available or if the request is lengthy, it could take up to 5 days to complete. Special arrangements must be made with the County Clerk, Assistant Clerk or the Records supervisor to have searches completed while you wait.
- All fees must be paid in advance. Search fees are $1.00 per year, per name.
- Searches may be requested in person at the appropriate Records or File Room counter or in writing. No telephone requests will be accepted. You may now view Civil, Criminal or Probate case information on-line. Click on Case/Calendar Inquiry to view this information.
Copies, Certifications and Exemplifications
- All requests for copies, certifications and exemplifications must be made in person at the Records counter or in writing. This applies to photocopies or microfilm copies. Requests are not taken over the phone. To access the form for a copy request, which you can mail or bring into our office, click on copy request.
- The Clerk of the Court cannot certify or exemplify anything that is not on record.
- All fees must be paid in advance per NRS 19.013. Copies are $1.00 per page. Fees must be paid by cash, check or money order payable to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
- When ordering copies for certifying or exemplifying, the fees are the standard copy fees plus $3.00 to Certify or $6.00 to Exemplify. When supplying your own copy the fees are $5.00 to Certify and $9.00 to Exemplify.
- Copy requests are normally completed within 2 working days. If the file is not available or if the request for copies is lengthy, it could take up to 5 days to complete. The Clerk, Assistant Clerk or the Records supervisor must give special permission to have copies completed while you wait.
- Completed requests may be picked up at the Records counter or mailed. Written requests will be returned by mail, unless the request specifies otherwise.
