Court Administration
The Eighth Judicial District Court established a Court Administration Office in the fall of 1974. Under the direction of the Chief Judge, this office is responsible for personnel and fiscal affairs, security and public safety of court facilities, the introduction and integration of technology for court processes, Family Division support services; Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Family Mediation Center, Family Violence Center, Jury Services, the Court Interpreter's Program, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Discovery, Probate and the Grand Jury.
Other responsibilities of Court Administration include assessing and improving court case management through automation and collaboration with other relief agencies. Information and statistics are provided to the legislature, local, state, and federal governments, plus citizen and professional groups. The Court Administrator represents the court on committees, councils, and national boards as appropriate.
In 2005, the Judges of the Las Vegas Township Justice Court agreed to integrate the administration of the Justice Court with the administration of the Eighth Judicial District Court. The integration aims to improve court processes, reduce duplication of services and improve customer service.
The Court Executive Officer reports to the Chief Judges of both courts and is assisted by three assistants.
